This trim is designed to be placed on a clean, solvent free surface. It has a built in adhesive strip on the backing. In actual installations we've found that you generally need to use some small screws under the lip to hold the trim down on sharp curves or radiuses.The glue strip is justnot 100% foolproof. We've also brushed some contact cement on those hard-to-glue-down areas. It does makefor a nice finished edgebut it is not manadatory for those who can make clean carpet cuts ( which you call can if you read our manual and practice a little)The picture shows theTUCK type trim but we also have thebutt under type of trim.We're also available to answer any questions or offer advice while you're doing the installation.
